Wenger Suggests Koscielny’s Goal was no Handball

Arsenal managed to record a 1-0 win against Burnley, after playing a barren draw within 90 minutes of regular football. the Gunners did score with 5 seconds of extra time remaining.

Some sections of the EPL fans are of the opinion that it is actually a handball whilst some say it is an offside goal. However, Arsene Wenger is of a different opinion.

on his assessment of the game…
Look it was a big test for us because I think we were motivated, we had the attitude right and our legs were not as dynamic as in recent games. Our technique as well, we made some technical mistakes today. I must say, Burnley made it difficult for us. They defended very well, they were very well organised in a very intelligent way and I give the merit to my team. We kept going until the end, we got a bit lucky as well, a bit fortunate to win the game in the end but you can only have the chance to win it if you keep going. It was the kind of game we could’ve won 1-0 and we could’ve lost 1-0 as well. Burnley makes everybody suffer here and I think that will last until the end of the season.

on the importance of the win…
It’s a big win because City lost today. We were five points behind them and when you are five points behind a top quality team, when you have an opportunity to get a bit closer you cannot miss it. And that would’ve been the negative aspect of our game today had we not won. I must say, I am long enough in the job to know that you feel disappointed if you are in Burnley’s shoes because they gave absolutely everything and you can understand that they are a bit gutted to lose a game like that because they had put all the effort in to get the result.

Manchester United linked with a £15m move for Reece Oxford

UEFA Europa League 2015/16 Third Qualifying Round First Leg West Ham United v Astra Upton Park, Green St, Upton Park, London, United Kingdom - 28 Jul 2015

Following the appointment of Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, it is expected that he would seek to sign the players he would want to work with.

It appears the new boss has hit the ground running, as it is now reported that he has spotted his transfer target. According to reports, West Ham youngster Reece Oxford has emerged as one of the Portuguese boss target.

The Express claims that Mourinho has given the club the go-ahead to place a £15m offer for the 17-year-old. Perhaps, the manager has spotted the centre-back spot as the position that needs strengthening ahead of next season.

Oxford meteoric rise coincides with that of his club, where he made 12 appearances in all competition, helping them to a sixth-placed finish in the English Premier league.

Although United were inarguably one of the clubs with the best defensive record last season, it takes nothing out of the fact that some of the defence needs some revamping. Daley Blind played alongside Chris Smalling for most part of the season, and this goes to show that more legs is needed in order to return to our glory days.

Although, he is predominantly a CB, he can also play as a DM, which makes him an asset to the club, considering that the likes of Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini could set for the exit this summer.

Arsenal Make Contacts with Chelsea For Kurt Zouma

Arsenal, Chelsea  Comments Off on Arsenal Make Contacts with Chelsea For Kurt Zouma
May 312016

It appears Arsenal would go to any length in bolstering the team ahead of next season which would parade top European coaches in the top five clubs.

Wenger is reported to be in talks with his Chelsea counterpart Antonio Conte over the possibility of signing Kurt Zouma according to online casino list. Both sides are looking to bolster their respective defence but Conte is reportedly not buying the idea of a 20-year-old marshaling his defence, rather he is looking to sign quality centre-backs from the Serie A.

That could see Zouma play a fringe role next season upon his return from injury, but Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli reports that Wenger is eager to offer him an escape route out of his current side.

It’s being a while since Arsenal conducted transfer business with Chelsea, and so, signing the defender will be classified as a steal if the deal pulls through. He is likely to replace Per Mertesacker who struggled to impress last season – a rare red card last season against the Blues showed that he may have lost his touch.

Fans have berated Mertesacker for his lack of pace, and the manager’s decision to hand him a fringe role in the last quarter of the just concluded season goes to show that the German is now an outsider in the first eleven. Zouma is the perfect understudy to the veteran and one that bodes well for the club’s future.

Barcelona are lurking around for Arsenal’ Hector Bellerin

Arsenal, Premier League, Transfer News  Comments Off on Barcelona are lurking around for Arsenal’ Hector Bellerin
May 262016

Barcelona are set for a customary raid on Arsenal for one of their defensive players, according to reports.

The Mirror reports that the Catalans have earmarked Hector Bellerin as the likely replacement for Dani Alves. Barcelona were rocked with the news this week that two of their stars had agreed terms with Italian giants Juventus.

Mascherano and Alves were reported to be heading for the exit. While the former still has a contract with them, Alves is free to discuss with interested clubs. With his exit looking clearer as the day goes by, Luis Enrique has spotted Hector Bellerin as a top priority this summer.

Arsenal relied heavily on Bellerin last season. So much so that they had to let Mathieu Debuchy leave on loan in January. Calum Chambers has not been given the opportunity to play in the right flank of the defence, and that leaves the Spaniard as the only reliable player left in that position.

There are reports of the Gunners trying to recruit a right back, but that seems as an option rather than a replacement for Bellerin.

The 21-year-old cam e out earlier in the week to affirm that he sees his future in the North London club, so it will definitely come as a shock should he seek to leave for Spain. He still has a contract until 2019 so the decision is Arsenal’s to make.

Martin Skrtel sure to leave Liverpool this summer – Agent

Liverpool are set for a massive clearout of their squad and it is likely that the overhaul will start from the defence.

That said, one defender set to leave is Martin Skrtel who looks set to leave this summer, according to his agent. Karol Csonto has said that Besiktas are frontrunners in the race for his client who has been tipped for an exit. It was reported last month that the centre-back was considering his future at the club.

Having fallen down the pecking order of defenders at the club, the 31-year-old is fed up with the fringe role handed to him under Jurgen Klopp.

Despite having two years left to run on his current contract, he has his eyes firmly set for an exit and as a result, a host of clubs are lurking around for his signature.

“Besiktas is one of those interested in Martin but we’re haven’t reached a point where I can confirm Martin is going there, or anywhere else,” Skrtel’s agent, Karol Csonto, told TV Markiza in Slovakia.

“But I can say that it is 90 percent sure Martin will leave Liverpool, but it is far from closed.”

We are yet to hear an official statement from the club as regards the player’s future, but if the agent’s statement is to be relied upon, then the player will join the likes of Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho who are set for an exit.

The Reds are linked with some quality centre-backs ahead of the opening of the transfer window and that bodes well for the club’s future. However, a caveat to this is that they may need some time to settle down at the club.

Chelsea eye Leicester City Demarai Gray

May 262016

Chelsea are linked with a move for a lesser known player in the Leicester team. While the likes of Riyad Mahrez, N’golo Kante are under intense speculations to be set for the exit out of the League Champons, the Blues have now turned their attentions to Demarai Gray.T

The incoming boss Antonio Conte will oversee the affairs of the club after the Euros and it is expected that he there would be some revamping of the squad. This has seen Gray spotted as a likely option in the club’s attack.

According to Fichajes, they are set to make a move for the winger who joined the foxes just this January from Birmingham for around £3.7m. He was a regular contributor from the bench to the title winning side where he made 12 League appearances for them.

There are no reasons as to why the Stamford Bridge side is going for the player. However, there are reports of either Eden Hazard or Willian set to leave the club this summer.

If Chelsea can sign the gifted winger, he would be a quality addition to their side. He can play from both sides of the wing, although he is predominantly a left winger. The Leicester Chiefs remain defiant over the availability of their players but a huge bid for the player could yet fly in their face.

Manchester United made contact with Inter for their star striker – report

May 262016

Manchester United have turned their attention to Italy in the search for a striker. While we still await the arrival of the new manager, the club is definitely not resting and it is now reported that the signing of a striker ranks top on the club’s priority list.

Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has revealed that United have made a move for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi. It is reported that they have made contacts with the Italian club over the availability of the strike.

However, there is no further statement as to whether the move was in the affirmative but we are sure to get more update as the days go by.

Icardi has been linked with a move to the Premier League, with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool reported to be lurking around for his signature. United are in need of a proven goal scorer but missing out of the champions League makes it more difficult. The likes of Higuain and Lewandowski obviously will not leave their respective sides for clubs not playing in Europe’s elite competition. Therefore, we are left with players like Icardi who are quality but currently available.

He scored 16 goals in 33 League appearances last season hence he will be an upgrade to what we currently have.

Arsenal lock horns with Liverpool for Ben Chilwell

Arsenal, Premier League  Comments Off on Arsenal lock horns with Liverpool for Ben Chilwell
May 252016

With the midfield now settled, having captured Granit Xhaka, Arsenal are now looking to bolster the defence ahead of the new season.

However, we must see off still opposition from Liverpool in the race for the player. Leicester City full back Ben Chilwell looks set to leave the Premier league champions this summer.

Arsenal recorded a failed £7 million bid in the winter transfer window. At that time the Foxes were resolutely protecting their squad against the preying eyes of League rivals. However, they are now boxed in a corner in seeing Chilwell remain at the club. The player’s contract is runs out next summer and he is adamant that he won’t be extending his stay.

It now looks as though Leicester are willing to sell him, and Arsenal are set to turn in a bid. However, we have a battle on our hands since Liverpool are also eager to sign the player, according to Football Insider.

Kieran Gibbs is reportedly not happy with the role handed to him in the just concluded season. He has found himself behind Nacho Monreal. Our interest in Chilwell goes a mile to show that Gibbs could be heading for the exit.

Should he leave, the Leicester left back is a capable replacement.

Roman Sanctions move for João Mário – report

The rumours linking Sporting CP winger João Mário to the club appears to be gathering momentum as the day the goes by.

According to Sporting Witness, Roman Abrahimovich has sanctioned the move for the player, and it is even reported that he is happy to pay €50m for the player.

The right winger has a humongous €60 million release clause inserted in his current contract. However, it is believed that the Blues are on course to have him amidst interest from other European targets.

He recently left the staples of Jorge Mendes, and hired Kia Joorabchian as his agent and this is reported to have handed Chelsea the advantage in the chase for his signature.

Willian is rumored to be set for a move out of the club, according to some sources, and this has prompted the need to recruit the need to sign a replacement. The incoming boss Antonio Conte is ready to sell any player who is not ready to obey his rules and that could mean that Willian could be leaving.

There is no better player to replace him than Mário who has recorded 11 assists and 6 goals in the league for the Portuguese side.

We just have to hope that the reports linking Mario to the club happens to true, however, only time will tell.

Arsene Wenger eyes Alvaro Morata

May 232016
<>Alvaro Morata

Arsenal are not resting on their oars despite the signing of Granit Xhaka, they are reported to be readying a massive offer for a striker.

According to journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the club have placed an offer believed to be in the region of £39million for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. It is common knowledge that the club would sign a new striker this season and it has gotten more imperative with the injury to Danny Welbeck which would see him stay out injured until some months into the new season.

In the light of that, Wenger has reportedly shifted his attention to Morata who is said to be having a somewhat torrid time at Juventus. The 23-year-old made the move to Italy with the hopes that he would be the club’s number option in the striking department. However, that is yet to come through since the likes of Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala are all above him in the pecking order of strikers.

Madrid made sure they inserted a £25million buyback option in his contract, and it is now reported that they are set to activate the clause. However, it is believed that they are ready to sell him off if the right offer comes.

Wenger who is known to be an ardent admirer of the striker is reportedly right on point to make an offer for him, and if it is in the region of what the tabloids suggest, then The Gunners certainly have got their man.
